That means less than 0.17% of those asked “show me your papers” were drinking! Since 11 vehicles were towed, we can conclude that 82% of the vehicles were stolen from undocumented drivers or people with registration issues. We all know the real reason they have these checkpoints. The cities and law enforcement agencies make MILLIONS ($40 million across CA in 2009) from these fascist checkpoints.

Motorists approaching a checkpoint will see information advising them that a checkpoint is ahead. Brian Sussman is the morning show host for the SF Bay Area Neo-Con radio station 560 KSFO. He was trashing California Assembly bill AB1389 which takes away the police’s power of stealing cars at checkpoints for non dangerous reasons such as expired tags or suspended licenses and only limits them to ,catching drunk drivers. I tried to counteract his fear mongering and xenophobic rant by educating him with a little liberty. I made one mistake talking about an investigation into contra costa county checkpoints, i meant to say they only caught 3 people drunk but i said suspended license instead. enjoy

Driving home from dinner in my peaceful town of Livermore, California. Traffic was backed up by 15 patrolmen (counted on both sides of the street) stopping everyone who passed by to check them for sobriety. Reminds me of traffic stops in Mexican border towns (the only difference is in Mexico the cops carry machine guns). America is quickly becoming a police state.

An Ohio police chase ended with a deadly shootout. Investigators say Ricky Diamond Junior, 22, took off after a domestic dispute on Tuesday and officers went after him. The dash-cam video shows a slow speed chase. It all happened in Union, which is northwest of Dayton. Officers used spikes to puncture the suspect’s tires, but he kept going. Then, another cruiser rammed the truck and a man ran out with a shotgun and gunfire was heard. Diamond was killed in the shootout. Three sheriff’s deputies have been put on leave while the investigation continues.
