Surfer Garrett McNamara has broken the world record for the largest wave ever surfed, a massive 90-foot wave. Surfers from California, Hawaii, South Africa, Australia and Europe are heralding the historic achievement of Garrett “G-Mac” McNamara, 44, the world’s top daredevil big wave surfer. The menacing 90-foot rogue wave, off the coast of Portugal at the North Canyon, was the height of a mid-rise office building. The record-breaking wave might have killed or injured other big wave surfers, but Garrett McNamara is experienced at surfing actual tsunami waves. Born during 1967′s Summer of Love, McNamara has surfed all his life.
