Los Angeles was once a pizza wasteland, with just a few barely edible slice shop spread throughout town. Over the last few years operators have noticed the dearth in quality pies and now we have Pizzeria Mozza, Joe’s, Stella Rosa, Pitfire, Hollywood Pies, Pizzeria il Fico, Sotto, The Luggage Room Pizzeria, Olio Pizzeria, then there’s the new farm-to-table pizza concept from Josh Loeb and Zoe Nathan of Rustic Canyon, David Myers is thinking pizza in Hollywood, Crust is coming to Studio City… and even establishments like Gjelina put forth laudable efforts. The list just goes on and on. Anyway, now Pizzeria Fondi (menu here ) out of Gig Harbor, Washington wants to get in on the LA action.
