Latest BHUSD Board of Ed Election Results

November 9, 2011

As of 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 10 percent of precincts have reported results for the Beverly Hills Unified School District Board of Education race . Election results will be updated on the Los Angeles County Department of Registrar-Recorder’s  website  every 15-20 minutes throughout the night.  Final results will not be available until all ballots have been hand-counted to account for write-in votes. The latest results are as follows:  Brian Goldberg—827 (38.81 percent) Frances Bilak—484 (22.71 percent) Lewis Hall—428 (20.08 percent) Andy Licht—392 (18.40 percent) Noah Margo—unknown Andy Licht announced Sept. 21 that he was no longer seeking a school board seat. However, California Election code 1510 states, “No candidate shall withdraw his or her declaration of candidacy after 5 p.m. on the 88th day prior to the general district election.” The 88th day this year was Aug. 12, which means Licht’s name remained on the ballot. Licht said he would resign if elected, which would allow the board majority to appoint a successor for a two-year term until the next school board election. Board members who are directly elected serve for four years. As a write-in candidate, the number of votes cast for Noah Margo will remain unknown until all ballots are counted by hand.
