Alfie is a young, male American bulldog mix and a shelter favorite. He has been neutered and is up to date with his routine shots. Not much is known of his past since he was found as a stray, but there is no denying Alfie is a darling dog that would make a great companion. This sweet pooch is looking for a foster home, or even better, a forever home. Ace of Hearts is a 501c-3 dog rescue foundation dedicated to rescuing dogs—the day they are to be euthanized—from various Los Angeles shelters and placing them in loving homes. It does not take dogs in. It rescues only from shelters. Its adoption days are normally held every Saturday at the West Hollywood Petco at 508 N. The southbound 405 Freeway will be closed overnight from the 101 Freeway to Getty Center Drive until Dec. 8 due to a freeway widening project, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The same portion of the freeway is also expected to be closed on Dec. 13. The southbound lanes will begin to close at 10 p.m. each night, but ramps may close as early as 7 p.m., according to Metro. The lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. each morning through Dec. 8. The same closure times will apply on Dec. 13.
