A resident in the Chinese metropolis of Shanghai who stuck out his left foot to trip up a fugitive on the run at a subway station has earned the name “Golden Left Foot” from Chinese citizens. On Dec. 21, police officer Sheng Song was on duty at the Langaolu Station of the Shanghai metro Line 7 when he found someone very suspicious lingering in front of a ticket vending machine. The suspect avoided eye contact with Sheng and could not provide identification. After checking his birth date in the online database by using his pocket device, Sheng confirmed that the suspicious man was a fugitive who might have been carrying weapons with him. However, another passenger, apparently aware of the situation at hand, extended his left foot to trip the running fugitive. This gave the chasing police officers time to catch up. Wang Dezhong, the Shanghai resident who aided the police, said what he did was nothing. He added that he would extend his foot again if he ran into something like this. Brave Police Officer Throws Spike Strips During Chase Just in Time!

(VIDEO) – A police chase ended in a brutal crash when an officer hurled a spike strip at a car as it sped by at an estimated 50 MPH through a residential neighborhood. Part of the chase was captured on video. According to KATU News, the chase began around 1:20 AM when police officers witnessed the car driven by 35-year-old Richard Millican blow through a stop sign at a high rate of speed. Officers pursued Millican until one brave policeman hurled a spike strip “like a bowling ball” at the speeding suspect’s car as it flew by. Raw video (seen above) captured at the scene shows just how close the car was to the officer when it hit the spikes. After the spikes blew his tires, Millican lost control of the car, jumped a curb and collided into a parked van. Witnesses at the scene said that had the van not been there, Millican would have crashed into an occupied house. Police said that Millican was taken to the hospital and that a search of his car uncovered methamphetamine. His condition remains unknown. Millican was cited for attempt to elude in a vehicle, driving while suspended, reckless driving, criminal mischief and distribution and possession of methamphetamine, according to KATU News.
Miami Police Officer Arrested at Gun Point by State Highway Patrol After High Speed Chase

On October 11, 2011, Miami Police Officer, Fausto Lopez, was clocked by state trooper Donna Jane Watts, of the Florida State Highway Patrol, doing 120 mph. A seven minute pursuit after the initial clocking of 120 mph. resulted in Officer Lopez being detained and arrested at gun point by state trooper Watts. The enire incident was captured on video by the the Florida State Highway patrol car dashcam. One year after the incident Officer Lopez was fired by the Miami Police.
