Martin Springer, the second teacher arrested at Miramonte Elelmentary School on charges of committing lewd acts on a child, was released from jail this morning at 2:00 a.m. after he posted $300,000 bail. One man was killed after a hit-and-run crash on the 605 freeway at about 5:30 this morning. City News Service reports that the crash, which involved multiple vehicles including a taxi, happened on the northbound side of the freeway just south of Imperial Highway. The victim, who is in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
