Driving while under the influence (or DUI) arrests can happen when you’re pulled over for reckless driving or if you happen to go through a sobriety check point. A sobriety check point is where officers are gathered to check each driver for being impaired. If the officer believes you’re impaired in any way, you will be asked to perform tests that will show whether or not you’re driving under the influence. These tests are given by officers from both Massachusetts state police and the local police department. These tests have to be proven and without doubt in a court of law in the state of Massachusetts. We need to show that the tests were performed correctly by the officers and that the machines were working correctly. The burden is on the government to show that you were guilty of the charge; if they cannot do that then we can get these harmful charges against you dropped. Watch the video now to learn more. Preparations are underway for the mid-week 4th-of-July holiday. News Anchor Dave Courvoisier talks about that and other news stories today for the evening news on KLAS-TV (CBS) CH8 in Las Vegas, NV. Police will be out checking for illegal fireworks, and the illegal USE of fireworks. They will also be closely watching for the possibility of drunk drivers. North Carolina’s wiretapping law is a “one-party consent” law. North Carolina makes it a crime to intercept or record any “wire, oral, or electronic communication” unless one party to the conversation consents. NC Gen. Stat. ยง 15A-287. Thus, if you operate in North Carolina, you may record a conversation or phone call if you are a party to the conversation or you get permission from one party to the conversation in advance. That said, if you intend to record conversations involving people located in more than one state, you should play it safe and get the consent of all parties.
