“Hotel California” is a 2012 soul-rock remake of the Eagles classic song by R&B singer and hip-hop recording artist TQ from Compton, California. With musical influences that include Mary J. Blige, Prince, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, 2Pac, NWA, Dr. Dre and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, TQ’s vocal talent shines in a daring remake of the Eagles’ megahit “Hotel California” that is absolutely superb. TQ , who was born in 1976 when the song was originally recorded, does such a fantastic job with “Hotel California” that the song sounds like it was freshly created in 2012.
