The intoxication of war, fueled by the euphoric nationalism that swept through the country like a plague following the attacks of 9/11, is a spent force in the United States. The high-blown rhetoric of patriotism and national destiny, of the sacred duty to reshape the world through violence, to liberate the enslaved and implant democracy in the Middle East, has finally been exposed as empty and meaningless. The war machine has tried all the old tricks. It trotted out the requisite footage of atrocities. It issued the histrionic warnings that the evil dictator will turn his weapons of mass destruction against us if we do not bomb and “degrade” his military. DUI Checkpoints El Segundo & Gardena
You might get motion sickness from this video…just wanted to mention that ESPD should try to make their checkpoints like other cities, so they are recognized. Drivers could only have been confused by the absurd arrangements of lights and signs in the wrong direction, and police cars with the lights flashing etc. Worst of all, I expected to see an accident the way the two screeners kept leaving their post to run into traffic on foot, or ride into it on motorcycles, yelling at people who turned through the gaping holes in the cones. ESPD have signs that only get half the message of checkpoint ahead at a time scrolling across, so blurry you cant read it. But it posts your speed large and clear, very useful for people stuck in a line of cars entering a checkpoint. They didnt design those electric signs that way because they are stupid, they did it because they know the rest of us are. Got a dui, fight it, ESPD does not know how to set up in compliance with the law, even an ignorant cyclist can see that. The Gardena flaws are not nearly as obvious…but they make up for that with the beautiful women on scene, and a calm situation where nobody is running and hollering while doing a 50 yard dash to chase sober people. Yes, I am dissing the ESPD. They should consider my comments before someone gets hurt at one of their unprofessional checkpoints. In general, suspicionless checkpoints are illegal in this country. The SCOTUS once said slavery was legal too for those that think …

Geraldo TalkRadio KABC Los Angeles
Geraldo Rivera is launching a talk radio show in Los Angeles with a politically moderate tone on KABC-AM 790 from 10am to Noon weekdays, debuting January 30th. Geraldo agreed with the Cumulus Media philosophy of a more balanced news perspective than is currently offered on conservative talk radio, so the 68-year-old television news legend signed a radio deal worthy of his award-winning journalism career. “Talk radio is setting the agenda politically, and that agenda is extremely partisan. It’s carving up the country, it has a strong racial undertone, and I don’t think that’s good for anybody,” Rivera declared.
