The 90210 ZIP has been named the nation’s fourth richest postal code for 2011, according to Businessweek.com. The report lists the average household income in the 90210 ZIP as $278,757, with an average household net worth of $1,504,166. Though Beverly Hills has five ZIP codes—90209, 90210, 90211, 90212, 90213—the popular television show Beverly Hills, 90210 helped the city become synonymous with the 90210 ZIP. The 90210 ZIP stretches from Wilshire Boulevard to the Trousdale Estates. It also includes a portion of Los Angeles north of the Beverly Hills border known as the Beverly Hills Post Office. BHPO residents get to use the famous ZIP, but they are not a part of the Beverly Hills election process or school system. The highest-ranked West Coast ZIP on Businessweek.com’s list, 90210 fell behind 33480 (Palm Beach, Fla.), 11568 (Old Westbury, N.Y.) and 60043 (Kenilworth, Ill.). Stormy weather knocked a large tree branch into the eastbound lane of Sunset Boulevard between North Crescent and North Rexford drives on Monday afternoon. Traffic had to be diverted until the branch could be removed from the street. Thanks to David Berger for sharing his photo of the incident.
