A Highway Patrol state trooper’s car caught fire after a suspect ran into it during a high speed chase late Monday night. Thedriver has been identified as Allen Jackson Goodman of Troy, NC. Goodman has been charged with DUI, driving under suspension and failure to stop for a blue light.Goodman is being held at J. Rueben Long Detention Center. Lt.Myron Creel with Horry County Police says the chase started around 11:45 pm on Highway 501 near Carolina Forest Boulevard. He says when the trooper tried to stop Goodman, he took off.Police say the chase reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour as they headed toward Conway. When they got to East Cox Ferry Road, police say Goodman rammed the troopers car. The troopers car came to a stop at University Forest Boulevard where it caught fire. The trooper got out of the car and was not hurt.Highway 501 Business at University Forest Boulevard was shut down for about an hour and a half, as Horry County Fire Rescue put out the fire and police investigated the wreck.Police say Goodman continued on Highway 501 through Conway. The chase came to an end at Cook Road when Horry County Police stopped Goodman by putting down stop sticks.

Suspect Shot After Wild Police Chase In Modesto, California – Modesto News
Just after midnight a police officer in downtown Modesto, California heard the sound of shots being fired near Maze Blvd. He then observed a pickup truck coming from the direction of the shot sounds. The officer attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The suspect in the truck did not stop for the officer but, instead drove onto Highway 99 and proceeded to drive south on the freeway at speeds of over 90 miles per hour. The Modesto Police Department stayed with the vehicle as the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol joined in the pursuit. The suspect drove to Turlock, California where he took an exit. He drove for a few minutes around Turlock before getting back onto Highway 99 and driving northbound back toward Modesto. The suspect was able to avoid at least 3 attempts by police to use spike strips and made his way back into Modesto, California. The suspect began to slow the vehicle for an unknown reason to about 40 miles an hour while on the freeway and after a few minutes took the Toulumne Blvd. exit and started driving west. The officers in pursuit were given authorization at this time to use a PIT maneuver to facility a felony stop. The man slowed down and threw the baby out the car door and drove off ending the chase by driving full speed into a parked Brown County Sheriff’s cruiser on the highway.
