Hawthorne Police Department Hawthorne, California 7/08/2011 A planned checkpoint took place on the corner of Isis Avenue and Rosecrans Avenue near the Equinox Gym. The purpose, to check for drivers without licenses and those driving under the influence of alcohol. One woman underwent testing while barefoot and an older gentleman was taken off in handcuffs. All this happened very quickly in the short timeframe around 10:00pm to 11:00pm
