Raw video Davenport police chase, and shooting
Scott County Attorney Mike Walton has cleared three Davenport police officers of any wrongdoing in the Aug. 7 shooting of an 18-year-old man on the Centennial Bridge. Walton said Thursday that the three officers — Sgt. Greg Behning, Detective Epigminio Canas and Officer Sam Miller — shot Michael Linn Cross as he tried to run them over with his vehicle in an attempt to break free from a blockade of police vehicles. “When you don’t stop after officers try to stop you, bad things are going to happen,” Walton said. “Mr. Cross raised the level of danger for everyone involved. He endangered the lives of officers, he endangered the lives of civilians, and he endangered his own life.” Walton showed video from a squad car’s dashboard camera. The video showed Cross crashing his Chevy Blazer into an unmarked police van at the base of the bridge in Davenport shortly after midnight. He then put his vehicle in reverse and struck another unmarked vehicle that attempted to box him in. A marked squad car with lights flashing also attempted to block him. Walton said the officers fired six rounds, and Cross sustained three gunshot wounds that were not life-threatening. The incident on the bridge lasted 1.03 seconds, Davenport Police Maj. Don Schaeffer said. Schaeffer said the officers fired their weapons because they felt they were in danger, adding that Cross turned his steering wheel “toward those …
Raw video: Robbery Suspect is Tackled by Brave Bystanders in Seattle
Video Courtesy:KING 5 photographer Pete Cassam(Any copyright issue?message me, video will be removed as soon as possible)The citizens of Seattle showed that they don’t take kindly to crime in their city. Pedestrians in downtown Seattle jumped into action on Friday after an armed thief robbed a jewelry store – with a group of bystanders stopping the suspect and holding the man down in a scary sidewalk melee in front of the Hotel MAX until police could arrive. A hotel doorman was shot in the scuffle but the suspect was arrested and the loot he attempted to run off with was recovered. It all began early on Friday morning, when a man, donning a white rubber mask and carrying a gun, stole a tray of platinum-colored rings from the Express Jewelers boutique in the Westlake Center shopping mall. During the heist, the thief fired shots, which were heard at a Wells Fargo branch located at the mall. Bank employees alerted police to a suspicious incident. The robber fled the jewelry store and ran from the mall but he was chased by 35-year-old Roberto Sandoval, a doorman at the nearby Mayflower Park Hotel. Sandoval pursued the thief for several blocks until the suspect shot the hotel employee, directly across from the federal courthouse, hitting him in the arm. When the shots were fired on the street, bystanders sprang into action. At one point as many as five burly men were piled on top of the robber, shouting out expletives as the suspect squirmed beneath them. ‘He was fighting hard …
