Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department Wilshire Division Robbery detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of a suspect who robbed a 26-year-old woman inside a bus. On January 9, 2012, around 6:15 am, the suspect and the victim where both on a bus on Pico Boulevard at La Cienega Boulevard when the suspect approached the victim. The suspect struck the victim twice on the face and took her cell phone. When the bus came to a stop, the suspect got off and left eastbound on Pico Boulevard. The Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics treated the victim for minor injuries at scene. The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 20-27 years-old, brown eyes, 5’6″ tall, weighs around 180-200 pounds and has a shaved head. He was seen wearing a black beanie, black jacket, checkered pants, blue and white shoes. Surveillance footage of the robbery can be viewed at www.lapdtv.org. Amtrak Train Kills Pedestrian In N. Hollywood
A person was hit and killed by an eastbound Amtrak train Wednesday night in North Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The collision occurred at the tracks at about 7:16 p.m. just east of the Whitsett Avenue bridge, which travels over the 170 Freeway.
