Los Angeles Police Department Harbor Division Burglary Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a burglary suspect that smashed the window of a local business. On Jan 26, 2013, around 2:30 am, a restaurant located on the 200 block of North Gaffey Street was burglarized by two suspects. Detectives obtained a surveillance video of the break-in which shows the two suspects involved in the crime. One suspect, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and shorts, smashed the drive through window with a rock. After smashing the window, the suspect entered the restaurant and attempted to remove money from the cash register. A second suspect, seen wearing a baseball cap and glasses, acted as the look-out while the restaurant was being burglarized. The look out, later identified as 19-year old Michael Alvarez of San Pedro, has been arrested and convicted of the crime. Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the outstanding Suspect wearing the black hooded sweatshirt. Los Angeles: On February 21, 2013, around 3 pm, three males burglarized a residence near 3rd Street and Walker Avenue in San Pedro. The suspects’ actions were caught on a nearby surveillance camera just prior to committing the burglary. Detectives were able to obtain a copy of the surveillance video and are asking for the public’s help in identifying any of the suspects. The first two suspects are seen walking side by side, one wearing a white t-shirt, black hooded sweatshirt, gray jeans and carrying a black backpack. The other is wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and carrying a brown backpack. The third suspect is walking closely behind wearing a black silk screened t-shirt, black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. The suspects removed laptops from the victim’s residence. Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department and Van Nuys Area detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify burglary suspects caught on surveillance video. On February 2, 2013, at about 3:50 pm, two suspects entered a jewelry store in the area of Coldwater Canyon Ave and Riverside Drive armed with hammers. Once the suspects entered the business, they started smashing the display cases and removing several watches. The owner tried to stop the suspects but was pushed away by the two suspects. The suspects with the items ran out of the location and into a light colored compact vehicle. The same two suspects were seen on a video in the store the day before posing as customers. Suspect one is described as a Hispanic male, 25-30 years old. He is 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and weighs about 170 pounds. Suspect two is described as a 20- to 25 year-old Hispanic male. He is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. Los Angeles Police Department Hollenbeck Robbery detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of a suspect who robbed a local market with a knife. On December 24, 2012, around 10:30 am, the suspect went inside a market located in the 600 block of Breed Street in the Boyle Heights area. The suspect walked in the enclosed cash register area, brandished a knife and demanded money from the cash drawer. In fear for her safety, the employee complied with the suspects’ demands. The suspect exited the store and was last seen riding away on a bicycle. The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 25 to 35 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches and weighs about 200 pounds. He was wearing a black beanie, blue bandana, light blue sweater, blue shorts and black/white shoes. Los Angeles Police Department Newton Area Robbery Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a robbery suspect caught on surveillance video. On December 23, 2012, at 3:10 pm, the suspect drove up to a propane gas business located in the 500 block of East Slauson Boulevard in south Los Angeles. The suspect exited his vehicle holding a handgun in his right hand and walked directly to the cashier/attendant. The suspect pointed the handgun at the attendant and demanded money. The suspect took the money from the cashier, returned to his vehicle and drove away. The suspect is described as a 30 to 35-year-old male Hispanic, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs around 190 pounds. In the photo below, the suspect was wearing a piece of grey tape under his right eye possibly to cover a tattoo. Los Angeles Police Department Van Nuys Area detectives are asking for the public’s help to apprehend two men who robbed two employees of a local church who were transporting money. On Dec. 3, 2012, at about 3:30 pm, three suspects drove a compact vehicle into a parking lot at Church on the Way on Sherman Way in Van Nuys, got out of their car and confronted the employees as they transported money for the church. The masked robbers also hit one employee on the head as they removed cash from the employees’ vehicle. The suspects then returned to their car driven by the third suspect. After the robbery, the suspects drove south from the location. The only description of their vehicle is a grey, four-door compact with a dealer paper plate on the rear. The suspects are described as 25- to 30-year-old males of unknown ethnicity standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds. All were wearing dark clothing. LAPD Robbery-Homicide Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying two possible murder suspects whose images were captured on a surveillance video leaving the store of a murder in Hollywood. On June 24, 2010, around 9:00 pm, two men entered a medical marijuana clinic located in the 1600 block of North El Centro Avenue, Hollywood. The suspects entered the clinic, stabbed the victim repeatedly, and left the location with about $3000.00 worth of marijuana and the closed-circuit recording equipment. Despite numerous interviews and man hours, no one has come forward with any information that would assist in developing leads in this murder investigation. Los Angeles Councilman Eric Garcetti received approval for a reward in the amount of $50000.00 to be offered to anyone for information leading to the identification, apprehension, and conviction of the persons responsible for the death of Mr. Ila Packman. Police in Search of a Chain Snatcher and her accomplice NR12456cj Los Angeles: Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect who robbed a woman and took her gold necklace. On September 25, 2012, around 6:50 pm, a woman walked up to a female bystander and pulled her gold chain from her neck. The force of the pull caused the victim to fall the ground. The crime occurred in the area of Cesar Chavez Avenue and Mott Street. The suspect was last seen running from the scene with the victim’s necklace. Nearby surveillance cameras show the suspect running to an awaiting red Mercury Sable. The suspect is described as a 20 to 22-year-old African American female who stands around 5 feet 5 inches and weighs between 105 and 115 pounds. The suspect has long braids and acne on her face. The second suspect in the getaway car is described as a male African American with a bald head. The suspects’ car is described as a red 90’s Mercury Sable and has a broken left rear break light. Detectives believe the pair may be responsible for other similar crimes in the area. Los Angeles Police Department West LA Area detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying four members of a knock-knock burglary crew who have targeted homes in West Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. On September 4, 2012, around 4:10 pm., suspects door-knocked a home in the 12600 block of W. Sunset Bl. When there was no answer, the suspects tried to enter the house through the rear yard by the side gate. As the suspects started walking towards the side gate, they were confronted by the victim who heard the knock at the front door and came out onto the drive way. Suspects confronted by the victim got into their car and left the residence in an unknown direction. The last suspect before leaving punched the victim in the face, causing the victim to fall to the ground. Suspect one is described as a black male, 18-25 years old, wearing a white tank top, with brown shorts and blue shoes. Suspects two through four is described black male, 18-25 years old. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a four door ’98-’03 black Lincoln Continental or a Towncar with a partial license plate of 4k-k— or 4k-k3–. Los Angeles: Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a strong-armed robber who held up a local gas station using force, fear, and a simulated handgun. On January 29, 2012, just after 10 pm, the suspect, a White male or light-skinned Hispanic, went into a gas station in the 5300 block of South Huntington Drive. He walked behind the counter and grabbed an unsuspecting clerk from behind and demanded money from the cash drawer. In fear for their life, the victim complied with the demand. The suspect left the store and drove off in a late-90s dark colored sedan. Store surveillance cameras captured the suspect’s image and getaway car. Those images are attached to this news release and the video can be viewed at lapdtv.org. The suspect was 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighed about 230 pounds and was 35 to 45 years old. Detectives warn that the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
