A wind advisory issued by the National Weather Service is in effect for the Los Angeles area through 3 p.m. Friday. Winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 35 mph were expected throughout the afternoon. Some isolated gusts up to 40 mph are possible. Use caution when driving high-profile vehicles through the hills. From the official Beverly Hills Facebook page : Beverly Hills residents are advised that current and expected weather conditions have created a severe fire danger in the northern section of the city designated as a ” Very High Hazard Severity Zone .” The Beverly Hills Fire Department has activated the city’s ” Red Flag ” program and will continue to monitor the situation.
