Police in Search of a Chain Snatcher and her accomplice NR12456cj Los Angeles: Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect who robbed a woman and took her gold necklace. On September 25, 2012, around 6:50 pm, a woman walked up to a female bystander and pulled her gold chain from her neck. The force of the pull caused the victim to fall the ground. The crime occurred in the area of Cesar Chavez Avenue and Mott Street. The suspect was last seen running from the scene with the victim’s necklace. Nearby surveillance cameras show the suspect running to an awaiting red Mercury Sable. The suspect is described as a 20 to 22-year-old African American female who stands around 5 feet 5 inches and weighs between 105 and 115 pounds. The suspect has long braids and acne on her face. The second suspect in the getaway car is described as a male African American with a bald head. The suspects’ car is described as a red 90’s Mercury Sable and has a broken left rear break light. Detectives believe the pair may be responsible for other similar crimes in the area.
