Los Angeles Police Department Harbor Division Burglary Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a burglary suspect that smashed the window of a local business. On Jan 26, 2013, around 2:30 am, a restaurant located on the 200 block of North Gaffey Street was burglarized by two suspects. Detectives obtained a surveillance video of the break-in which shows the two suspects involved in the crime. One suspect, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and shorts, smashed the drive through window with a rock. After smashing the window, the suspect entered the restaurant and attempted to remove money from the cash register. A second suspect, seen wearing a baseball cap and glasses, acted as the look-out while the restaurant was being burglarized. The look out, later identified as 19-year old Michael Alvarez of San Pedro, has been arrested and convicted of the crime. Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the outstanding Suspect wearing the black hooded sweatshirt. Police in Search of a Chain Snatcher and her accomplice NR12456cj Los Angeles: Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect who robbed a woman and took her gold necklace. On September 25, 2012, around 6:50 pm, a woman walked up to a female bystander and pulled her gold chain from her neck. The force of the pull caused the victim to fall the ground. The crime occurred in the area of Cesar Chavez Avenue and Mott Street. The suspect was last seen running from the scene with the victim’s necklace. Nearby surveillance cameras show the suspect running to an awaiting red Mercury Sable. The suspect is described as a 20 to 22-year-old African American female who stands around 5 feet 5 inches and weighs between 105 and 115 pounds. The suspect has long braids and acne on her face. The second suspect in the getaway car is described as a male African American with a bald head. The suspects’ car is described as a red 90’s Mercury Sable and has a broken left rear break light. Detectives believe the pair may be responsible for other similar crimes in the area.
