If snakes and lizards are your bag, you’re in luck — the LA Zoo is opening a new home for reptiles and their scaly ilk. Children’s Library Closed Feb. 4-6
Due to renovations , the Children’s Library section of the Beverly Hills Public Library will be closed from Feb. 4-6 as children’s material is relocated to the facility’s second floor/auditorium wing. New features to the Children’s Library will include: Larger space with separate areas for younger and older children Designated “noisy” and “quiet” areas Enhanced technology and wireless capabilities Multifunctional children’s theater Two study rooms Safe bathrooms located near the Children’s Desk and offices A family restroom Other library services will not be affected during the closure. City Hall, Library Opening Late Monday, Oct. 10
Due to employee training, City Hall and the Beverly Hills Public Library are opening late on Monday, Oct. 10. City Hall’s hours will be 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The library will be open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Note: The library has extended its Thursday hours, now closing at 8 p.m. rather than 6 p.m.) Beverly Hills Unified School District students get Monday off for Columbus Day, but district employees will be celebrating the federal holiday while attending a Staff Development Day. Meant to mark Christopher Columbus’ arrival to the Americas on Oct. 12, 1492, Columbus Day is celebrated annually in the United States the second Monday in October.
