Los Angeles Police Department Newton Area Robbery Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a robbery suspect caught on surveillance video. On December 23, 2012, at 3:10 pm, the suspect drove up to a propane gas business located in the 500 block of East Slauson Boulevard in south Los Angeles. The suspect exited his vehicle holding a handgun in his right hand and walked directly to the cashier/attendant. The suspect pointed the handgun at the attendant and demanded money. The suspect took the money from the cashier, returned to his vehicle and drove away. The suspect is described as a 30 to 35-year-old male Hispanic, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs around 190 pounds. In the photo below, the suspect was wearing a piece of grey tape under his right eye possibly to cover a tattoo. Surveillance footage of the robbery is available at www.lapdtv.org The suspect’s vehicle is described as a 2000 — 2005 Chevy Impala, light gray or white in color. LAPD detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a robbery suspect caught on surveillance video robbing store employees at gun point at a neighborhood 7-Eleven store. On Oct. 6, 2012, at 4:30 am, a suspect brandishing a handgun entered a 7-Eleven store in the 700 block of West Vernon Avenue and confronted the cashier, ordering him to open the cash registers and then lie face down on the ground. The suspect then removed money from the registers and left the location. At 3:20 am on Oct. 24, 2012, at 3:20 am, another robbery occurred at the same location. This time, there were two cashiers. The suspect’s mode of operation was exactly the same, except that when he left the store after the robbery, he was seen making his getaway on a mountain bike heading east on Vernon Avenue. The only description of the bike was that it might have been red or orange. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and is described as a 25- to 35-year-old Black male about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 1 inch tall. He weighs 180 to 220 pounds and was wearing a black beanie, black gloves, black sweater, black pants and black shoes. Homicide Suspects Sought in Brutal Murder
Los Angeles: On Dec. 27, 2011, the Robbery Special Section of LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division assumed investigative responsibilities for a homicide at a place of business in Los Angeles. On Sept. 2, 2011, 75-year-old Min Yin was working at the Joy & Louis Corp, 1320 E. 18th Street, located in LAPD’s Newton Area. At approximately 8 am, a male Hispanic (Suspect #1) arrived at the location to pick up an item that had been previously purchased on August 30, 2011. As suspect #1 exited the business, two additional suspects arrived and forced themselves inside. A struggle ensued, and one of the suspects stabbed Yin. The suspects then left the location. Yin was taken to LAC-USC Medical Center and admitted where he remained in critical condition until his death on Dec. 26 of last year. Yin resided in the city of Arcadia. Suspect #1 is described as a male Hispanic who stands about 6 feet tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He has dark hair, brown eyes and appears to be in his late 40s. Suspect #2 is described as a male Hispanic. He stands approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, is heavy set and has short dark hair (about a #2 clipper cut).n He has small eyes, a dark complexion and a tattoo on the left side of his neck.
