Agreement Requires Metro Construction Jobs Go to Low-Income and Disadvantaged Workers

The Metro board approved a new policy today requiring that 40 percent of the work hours on its major transportation projects go to low-income and other struggling workers. West Hollywood, California has banned the sale of fur citywide, and it is the first such fur ban in the United States of America. The West Hollywood City Council voted to make illegal the sale of any clothing made of animal fur, including wool.
