Burglar in Bel Air Hills Caught on Tape
Public’s Help Requested to Identify Suspect Los Angeles: A security surveillance system has captured a burglary suspect breaking into and burglarizing a house in the Bel Air Hills area of Los Angeles. On Monday, October 3, 2011, at around 9 pm, surveillance cameras captured a suspect smashing a rear window and entering a house in the 2000 block of Coldwater Canyon Boulevard. The suspect is a 25- to 35-year-old African-American male with black hair who stands 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall. He weighs 150 to 160 pounds and was wearing a shirt with the letters “FLYS” on the front. The suspect took jewelry and cash with an estimated value of $122800 and is believed to be a serial burglar responsible for numerous thefts from recent months throughout upscale areas of West Los Angeles, Southern San Fernando Valley and the Hollywood Hills. Detectives need the public’s help to identify the suspect and stop his prolific crimes. They also believe others are working with the suspect to commit the burglaries. The Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences agreed Tuesday night to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to establish a movie museum at Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.
