A Los Angeles County coroner’s spokesman reported that rapper Heavy D, who collapsed at his Beverly Hills apartment building in November, died of a blood clot in his lung . 3. Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley warned consumers about a “robo-call” scam to get confidential banking information from unsuspecting victims. 4. A college football player performed the Heimlich maneuver on a diner during the Beef Bowl dinner in Beverly Hills. 5. Starting Jan. 1, a new state law will require children under age 8 to be buckled into a car or booster seat that is secured in a vehicle’s back seat. Also, Beverly Hills High School athletes have been selected to All-Ocean League teams in football, girls volleyball and boys water polo.
