Possible Murder Suspects Captured on Tape NR12498cn
LAPD Robbery-Homicide Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying two possible murder suspects whose images were captured on a surveillance video leaving the store of a murder in Hollywood. On June 24, 2010, around 9:00 pm, two men entered a medical marijuana clinic located in the 1600 block of North El Centro Avenue, Hollywood. The suspects entered the clinic, stabbed the victim repeatedly, and left the location with about $3000.00 worth of marijuana and the closed-circuit recording equipment. Despite numerous interviews and man hours, no one has come forward with any information that would assist in developing leads in this murder investigation. Los Angeles Councilman Eric Garcetti received approval for a reward in the amount of $50000.00 to be offered to anyone for information leading to the identification, apprehension, and conviction of the persons responsible for the death of Mr. Ila Packman. The suspects are described as two males. After an overwhelming number of emails were received by Californiality in support of SB 914, this blog’s publisher made Governor Jerry Brown aware of the high level of public support for signing the bill into law. California Senate Bill 914 is the Legislature’s answer to a California Supreme Court ruling that allowed officers to search a suspect’s cellphone as an “incident to an arrest.” The Constitution states: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated.” Cell phones, laptops, tablets and related electronic file storage devices constitute the people’s “papers” and “effects.” Californiality contacted Governor Jerry Brown in support of SB 914 for the following reasons: The bill would not prevent police from ever searching a phone or any electronic device.
