DUI Check-Point Pacific Beach
Set up at East Mission Bay Dr @ 5 South Entrance had netted 10 DUI Arrests out of 1100 Vehicles that had passed through by 1:30am 3/25/2012 and the ratio was expected to rise as the Local Bar’s closed If you had made the proper choices, driving upon this CheckPoint was interesting. I found it interesting and although waved on I pulled around to shoot this video and ask a few questions of how the night had gone. My intent in sharing this is to help others make the proper choices = Prevention. As Prevention is the only way to eliminate the risks involved with Drunk Driving. I wish more would be done to Prevent rather than Punish but that’s not where the money’s at. Until receiving a first DUI most people are just regular people like your friends and co-workers and on and on. After a first DUI life as they knew it is gone forever & some will learn as others get worse. The punishment received shall have No-Effect in preventing others from Driving Drunk. Hopefully this video shall come to mind when planning an evening out and help someone make the proper choices too? Of note Taxies were stopped along with most of the rest of the traffic – I personaly feel Taxies are some of the worst drivers on the road :-O
Gardena DUI Checkpoint.wmv
I restore the 4th amendment for citizens in Gardena and Hawthorne. The law requires police to allow motorists to turn off and avoid checkpoints. Usually though, the opposite is true. Last night, 2-24-2012 I observed a checkpoint (also in Gardena) that allowed motorists to turn off, without being chased down and pulled over for doing so. While that is a nice change, the fourth amendment does not allow for suspicionless stops. The constitution trumps any court decision, especially one based on lies. But the reality is the constitutional protections are more of a myth these days then a reality. Especially with the poorest and most uneducated members of the population, who typically are not protected at all from overzealous police departments and officers. This video is from 2011, it shows how I make an effort to restore some 4th amendment protections, when the police set up a checkpoint that doesnt allow motorists a chance to turn off before being trapped. When I inspect a checkpoint, if its in violation of the law, I help the police respect their oath, and respect the public, by allowing motorists to pick an alternate route. This clip shows drivers doing just that. I have been thanked hundreds of times for doing so. Except for dishonest officers who sometimes claim to have lost 5 and 6 family members because of drunk driving, not one person has ever complained to me for restoring the 4th amendment. To those officers who have lost more family members from drunk driving then …
COP WATCH DUI Checkpoint Buena Park (part 1) 1-20-12
I was out on a little errand with my girlfriend to the baby store, just outside the shopping center was a DUI checkpoint with 50+ Police units including officers in training, Sheriff’s Department, Deputies, etc. The checkpoint started before 6:00pm (way before anyone starts drinking, during peak traffic hours in Orange County). I was going to record the small closed off area where the police where illegally searching and questioning people, conveniently for the police, the owners of the private property allowed them to stage this Nazi Stop, making it against the law for civilians to audio or video record the operation. This didnt stop me from pulling out my camera and filming the outside operation and asking a few questions.
