Recap: Florida Highway Patrol High-Speed Chase After Miami Police Officer (Caught On Camera)
SAPD:FR DUI Checkpoint and Chase
I’m in week 2 of a real life police academy for a village I’ll keep nameless in the state of NY. Here is a little practice of a criminal complaint in this scenario. The Complainant, being duly sworn by the San Andreas Police Department, makes complaint and states that there is probable cause to believe that the Defendant committed the following offense(s): Count I: Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle (NY Penal Law §270.25) Count II: Driving while Intoxicated ( NY Penal Law §60.21) Count III: Reckless Driving (NY VTL 1212) Count IV: Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent (NY VTL1180a) At 1650 on 31 October 2012, I was conducting a lawful DUI Checkpoint in Flint County, mile marker 72. While talking with the first driver of the night, a truck headed northbound towards Whetstone sped past the roadblock which caused me to give chase. After briefly losing sight of Mr. Hancock, I observed his vehicle which had turned around and was now headed southbound. After performing a traffic stop, he pulled his vehicle over and handed me a valid San Andreas Drivers License identifying him as John P. Hancock. After a brief conversation, Mr. Hancock subsequently fled the scene which was pursued for approximately 70 miles in hazardous road conditions until myself and another state police unit detained and arrested the suspect at 0055 on 1 November 2012. -Ofc. 5-Car Accident Takes Place in City Parking Facility
The driver of an Audi station wagon is alleged to have caused a chain-reaction car accident at about 4 p.m. Saturday in the city-owned parking lot at 439 N. Canon Drive. One witness, who asked to remain anonymous, reported to the Beverly Hills Police Department that he saw the Audi’s female driver “come flying down the exit” to the second underground level of the parking structure. The Audi then turned left, against traffic arrows, and slammed into two parked cars that then hit two other parked vehicles. “I’ve been a police officer for 21 years and I have never seen a car accident like this—two floors down in a [subterranean] garage,” BHPD Officer Don Chase said. One passenger was in the Audi with the driver during the accident. There were no passengers inside the four parked vehicles that were involved in the crash—a Mercedes SUV, a BMW sedan, a Mercedes station wagon and a BMW SUV. The Audi’s front airbags were deployed. The driver was overheard saying that she believed her brakes had failed. Be sure to follow Beverly Hills Patch on Twitter and “Like” us on Facebook . Police Chase Ends In Stabbing, Shooting
Lafayette police released video and audio showing Paul Spencer attacking officers before he was gunned down last month. All LPD officers were cleared of any wrongdoing by both a review board and the Tippecanoe County Prosecutor. Video from cameras mounted on the dashboard of the cruisers show what led up to their actions in the early morning hours of October 19. The camera on the dashboard reads 4:53 am when Officer Jeff Webb spots the car driven by Paul Spencer, 39. It all started with an Emergency 911 call minutes earlier. “There’s a fire,” the caller told dispatch. “Somebody jumped out of the window.” Later the operator asks what kind of car the suspect is driving. “A black Cadillac,” the caller responded. Light rain was falling in the early morning hours but Officer Webb reports road conditions are favorable. Spencer headed back downtown where Officer Ron Dombkowski picks up the pursuit in front of the Tippecanoe County Courthouse. As the pursuit continues, more and more officers are visible on side streets. Spencer is wanted for questioning on the arson as well as battery on a woman. “I tried to get her to walk back to you,” the dispatch operator told the officers on the scene of the arson call. “She is refusing. She’s scared for her life.” As Spencer heads south on 9th Street, away from downtown, speeds pick up to 60 mph Spencer crashed into an embankment at 9th and Potomac. His front tire still spins as he gets out and attacks Officer Dombkowski with a knife …
