Children’s Library Closed Feb. 4-6

Due to renovations , the Children’s Library section of the Beverly Hills Public Library will be closed from Feb. 4-6 as children’s material is relocated to the facility’s second floor/auditorium wing. New features to the Children’s Library will include: Larger space with separate areas for younger and older children Designated “noisy” and “quiet” areas Enhanced technology and wireless capabilities Multifunctional children’s theater Two study rooms Safe bathrooms located near the Children’s Desk and offices A family restroom Other library services will not be affected during the closure. Rescue Dog of the Week: Alfie the American Bulldog Mix

Alfie is a young, male American bulldog mix and a shelter favorite. He has been neutered and is up to date with his routine shots. Not much is known of his past since he was found as a stray, but there is no denying Alfie is a darling dog that would make a great companion. This sweet pooch is looking for a foster home, or even better, a forever home. Ace of Hearts is a 501c-3 dog rescue foundation dedicated to rescuing dogs—the day they are to be euthanized—from various Los Angeles shelters and placing them in loving homes. It does not take dogs in. It rescues only from shelters. Its adoption days are normally held every Saturday at the West Hollywood Petco at 508 N. Mike Kelley , the world-famous L.A. contemporary artist with a punk attitude, has died at age 57 in Southern California of an alleged suicide. Mike Kelley’s body was found by police in his South Pasadena home after a worried friend went to the house and called 911.
