Burglary Suspect Sought by Police NR13074am

Los Angeles Police Department Harbor Division Burglary Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a burglary suspect that smashed the window of a local business. On Jan 26, 2013, around 2:30 am, a restaurant located on the 200 block of North Gaffey Street was burglarized by two suspects. Detectives obtained a surveillance video of the break-in which shows the two suspects involved in the crime. One suspect, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and shorts, smashed the drive through window with a rock. After smashing the window, the suspect entered the restaurant and attempted to remove money from the cash register. A second suspect, seen wearing a baseball cap and glasses, acted as the look-out while the restaurant was being burglarized. The look out, later identified as 19-year old Michael Alvarez of San Pedro, has been arrested and convicted of the crime. Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the outstanding Suspect wearing the black hooded sweatshirt. Detectives Want Public’s Help to Identify Robbery Suspect NR12489rf

LAPD detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a robbery suspect caught on surveillance video robbing store employees at gun point at a neighborhood 7-Eleven store. On Oct. 6, 2012, at 4:30 am, a suspect brandishing a handgun entered a 7-Eleven store in the 700 block of West Vernon Avenue and confronted the cashier, ordering him to open the cash registers and then lie face down on the ground. The suspect then removed money from the registers and left the location. At 3:20 am on Oct. 24, 2012, at 3:20 am, another robbery occurred at the same location. This time, there were two cashiers. The suspect’s mode of operation was exactly the same, except that when he left the store after the robbery, he was seen making his getaway on a mountain bike heading east on Vernon Avenue. The only description of the bike was that it might have been red or orange. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and is described as a 25- to 35-year-old Black male about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 1 inch tall. He weighs 180 to 220 pounds and was wearing a black beanie, black gloves, black sweater, black pants and black shoes. Police in Search of a Chain Snatcher and her accomplice NR12456cj Los Angeles: Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect who robbed a woman and took her gold necklace. On September 25, 2012, around 6:50 pm, a woman walked up to a female bystander and pulled her gold chain from her neck. The force of the pull caused the victim to fall the ground. The crime occurred in the area of Cesar Chavez Avenue and Mott Street. The suspect was last seen running from the scene with the victim’s necklace. Nearby surveillance cameras show the suspect running to an awaiting red Mercury Sable. The suspect is described as a 20 to 22-year-old African American female who stands around 5 feet 5 inches and weighs between 105 and 115 pounds. The suspect has long braids and acne on her face. The second suspect in the getaway car is described as a male African American with a bald head. The suspects’ car is described as a red 90’s Mercury Sable and has a broken left rear break light. Detectives believe the pair may be responsible for other similar crimes in the area.
