Robberies at Westside Stores and Markets Suspects Usually Wearing “Security” Shirts Seen on Surveillance Video Los Angeles: LAPD Pacific Area detectives are looking for at least three suspects who have recently robbed stores and markets located within close proximity to each other in the West Los Angeles area. Their trademark seems to be wearing black shirts with the word “security” written across the back. So far, detectives are aware of three robberies the suspects have committed. The first was last weekend on August 6 at about 8:20 pm at Bob’s Market, 1000 National Blvd. A surveillance video showed a suspect entering the store wearing a black ski mask and a black shirt with “security” written on the back in white letters. He was also wearing gloves and black pants and carrying a revolver handgun. While a cashier was helping another customer, he pointed his gun at the cashier, demanded money and then left the store, heading south on Hughes Avenue. A witness saw the suspect get into a parked car described as a black, four-door Honda driven by a second male suspect. The car was last seen heading south on Hughes Avenue. No description is available of the driver, but the first suspect is described as an 18- to 25-year-old Black male who stands about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs around 165 pounds. Los Angeles: LAPD Pacific Area detectives are looking for at least three suspects who have recently robbed stores and markets located within close proximity to each other in the West Los Angeles area. Los Angeles: On Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at 11 am, three male Black suspects entered a jewelry store located in the 3200 block of Wilshire Boulevard. One of the suspects held the security guard at gun point while the other two smashed the glass jewelry cases with a hammer. During the robbery, the suspects removed thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from the display cases. The suspects then ran out the back door. Outside the store, they encountered the parking lot security guard, a male Korean, who they bludgeoned in an attempt to escape. The suspects then tried to carjack a vehicle driven by a Korean woman but were unsuccessful. The suspects then carjacked a Korean man for his 2001 white GMC Savana van with a California License Plate 6T97736. A third vehicle, a green Toyota van was seen leaving the scene by the third suspect. The stolen green van was reported earlier to police and was found abandoned about one mile away from the jewelry store. For reference, the parking lot security guard was initially listed in critical condition and is now in stable condition. Los Angeles: Detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating a hit and run driver who struck and critically injured a 45-year-old woman and her 17-year-old son as they were crossing the street. On Sunday, August 21, 2011, at about 11:30 am, a motorist traveling northbound on Western Avenue hit two pedestrians walking westbound in the crosswalk at the intersection of 80th Street and Western Avenue. The driver failed to stop to render aid or identify themselves as required by law. LAFD rescue personnel responded to the scene and transported both victims to a local hospital where they are in critical condition. The driver is described as a female African American in her mid fifties, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. She was driving a dark late model car described as a possible Toyota, and would likely have sustained right front end damage and be missing the right side mirror. Suspect Sought in Service Station Robbery

Los Angeles: LAPD West Los Angeles Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that will lead to the arrest of a suspect responsible for a robbery in the West LA Area. On August 14, at around 11 pm, an African-American male entered the “Service Station of the Stars” located in the 9400 block of East Pico Boulevard. The suspect walked up to an employee, pulled out a blue-steel semi automatic hand gun and demanded that the employee put the money in a black plastic bag. Once the suspect’s demands were met, he ran from the station in an unknown direction. The service station was equipped with a CCTV system that captured the robbery on video. The suspect is described as an African-American male that appeared to be 25-30 years-old. He stood about 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs about 160 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing a black sleeveless hoodie, lime-green shirt, and black jeans.
